Frequently Asked Questions
Who are you?
We are a group of photographers who run our own workshops and tours around the world. The main challenge we all face is being better known, so we have banded together to help each of us get to a wider audience. For example, if someone has been on a photo tour before but would like to participate in another, then maybe another of us runs a tour you would be interested in. The service is curated by Carl Ottersen.
From Photo Tour Clients
Are you an agent for these tours?
No, we just help photographers promote their tours.
Do I ever have to pay you for anything?
Unless the photographer has asked us to act on his/her behalf for bookings, you deal with the photographer running the tour directly. You certainly don't pay us any extra fees or for other stuff.
How do I register and provide you information and content?
Please email us at email@example.com and we will take it from there.
Can I list half-day and day tours?
I run a video based tour, can I list also?
Can I list Workshops as well?
Yes, but we would do that in your profile as workshops are more localized and ‘in studio’. If the workshop is really a mini-tour, then fine we can list that as a tour.
Could you handle the bookings for me?
You mean act as your ‘agent’? Yes, but we would have to talk about that on a case-by-case basis.
You have some travel agents listed as partners - do we have to use them?
No you don’t - they are in just in case you don’t have a local partner and you need one. We would like to expand your business, these guys could help you, It also helps travelers participating in your tours if you don't offer lodgings as part of your service.
What does it cost me to list?
The subscription fee is US$100 a year or US$10 a month, payable by bank transfer, credit card or Paypal. And no, we don't charge any fees or commissions on your photo tours or anything else. All that is yours to keep.
Why should I join GreatPhotoTours?
Very simply because we help you with promoting your tours through advertizing on social media and getting attention from people from articles in magazines and news that you might find difficult, time consuming and expensive to do solo. We use the subscription fees to put in the effort and buy necessary advertizing space. We are essentially a mutually co-operating group of photographers, pooling resources to get more exposure.
